Snowball Effect

For the rest of this winter, I’m going to make “snowball effect” blog posts. In my last post, I felt lethargic - now that I got the ball rolling, I’m going to continue to share news and happenings as I gain momentum and grow.

First of all, a little gift for you. Magic words are real. For starters, the magic word abracadabra means “I create as I speak” in Aramaic. In psychology, we learn that our self talk, the voice inside our heads, has a lot to do with our general attitude and feeling. The French pharmacist Emile Coue had a verbal prescription, or mantra if you like, that he would say to himself every day. It went like this: “Day by day, in every way, I’m better and better.”

A lot of people may scoff at this, but a wise magician named Eugene Burger reminded me that there is a real truth to the power of our words, and if we say this every day, we really are becoming better. So, since the snowball gets bigger as I continue to blog, I’ll share that I’m going to be a guest artist at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum on Saturday, February 6th. I’m super excited to be sharing the material that reflects the real me and stuff I love to create. So share the wisdom and try the exercise - remember, it’s not about belief or disbelief, it’s about make believing!
