Sometimes when I want to create, I have this lethargic feeling. This voice in my head says, "Well, what do you have to say? Where's the value, what do you believe?" It's a horrible feeling of nothingness, and as I reflected on this feeling, I realized it's something that we need to address. I think a lot of people feel like this, and I think that it is important to realize that lethargic feeling, that is an actual feeling: THAT IS THE THING YOU HAVE TO SAY.
That is the conflict, and it's something to get inspired about. To realize that we have no direction, no energy, no motive, but that we are not going to give up. The very act of writing and talking about this feeling - realizing that it is a feeling - is the way to find motion again. As the magical skateboarder Rodney Mullen said, "Once you get lost, just start moving again". I myself have felt a little lost and lethargic, and with the start of the New Year, I'm going to acknowledge this feeling and start to animate out of it.
I'd like to share with you one of my favorite songs that nails this emotional note better than any other. So join me in the fight, and listen to "Might," by Archers of Loaf and find some inspiration!
